As the plan develops we will be inviting people to nominate interesting places within the Neighbourhood to feature on the web site.
The first nomination is St Michael’s and All Angels Church at the corner of Garfield Street and Roundhill Road where the first public meeting of the Forum on the 17th January 2016 was held.
It is an example of many the pre-fabricated, corrugated iron buildings that were thrown up to meet the demands of a rapidly urbanising society in the nineteenth century, but very few survive to this day. Largely used to provide places of worship they are sometimes referred to as ‘tin tabernacles’. A number of the surviving buildings have been converted to other uses and St Michael and All Angels is one of the few still in good condition and used as originally intended.
If you would like to get involved with the Forum and development of your Neighbourhood Plan, or would just like to offer your thoughts on such, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also contact us in writing, marking your letters f.a.o. Neighbourhood Plan, at 2, Cranleigh Road, Kettering, NN15 6QA.
